Self Introduction Video
If you are shortlisted, the employer will require an introduction video of yourself. Carefully read the requirements below, before sending us the video.
Introductory Video Requirements:
• Video Time: 1 Minute
• Full Colour
• Camera and Angle: Eye level, taken in front of a clean and near background. There should be no external movement in the recording.
• Sound: Vocal sound of the applicant must be loud and clear
• Light: The applicant should be illuminated clearly and recorded in a well-lit room
• Framing: Horizontal framing from the shoulders/chest area up to the top of the head
• Other: Hats or other similar head covering are not acceptable, spectacles are fine
Physical Interview
An interview with NudleLink can last between 20-40 minutes. Generally the interviewer will be asking questions related to your work experience (or if you don’t have any yet, then about your TEFL course), your views on teaching, how you would teach specific language or grammar points, classroom management techniques, dealing with discipline issues (especially if you are interviewing for a young learner job), teaching materials you have made, lesson planning as well as questions not related to teaching such as how you work with a team and cultural sensitivity perhaps.
Skype Interview
If you are not based in Johannesburg, our interviewer will conduct a Skype interview session with you, via a video call, so make sure you are dressed professionally, you have tested your microphone and headphones, have a webcam ready and a fast internet connection.
Make sure you have added the schools Skype ID well ahead of time to avoid starting late.
No working experience?
No Problem!
You can obtain a TESOL or Tefl certificate if you have yet to gain work experience to meet the requirements. Telf and TESOL courses will prepare you to teach English as a second or foreign language. The course emphasises the Communicative Language Teaching methodology while providing substantial opportunities to develop your practical teaching skills in an authentic English language classroom.
The full-time course can run for 4 weeks, and the part-time course runs for 12 weeks (120 hours). You can ask your NudleLink consultant to assist you in picking the right school to study the course.
Understanding TEFL Acronyms and Abbreviations
There are a lot of acronyms in the TEFL industry, but essentially there is no real difference between the following
acronyms and theyare used interchangeably:
TEFL
TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language
ESL
ESL = English as a Second Language
TESL
TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language
EFL
EFL = English as a Foreign Language
TESOL
TESOL = Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL

Types of jobs that will be offered
These are three main categories of teaching jobs in China that will be offered to you through NudleLink
Kindergarten
These Teaching jobs are typically aimed at children between the ages of 3 to 6 year old.
Public School
These jobs are aimed at primary school level, between grade 1 to grade 6
Private Tutor
These jobs consist of teaching individuals and the age group can range from kindergarten to adults

Teachers who apply through us don’t pay anything to NudleLink, all our commissions are charged to the Employer.
Yes, most teaching institutions will provide accommodations for the teacher.
If employers cannot provide an accommodation for teachers, they will provide rental subsidies for them.
The contracts will be a one year fixed term contract that may be extended.
Yes, we will assign a contact person to assist them with a smooth transition.
Yes, there will be other English-speaking teachers and colleagues.
Wages will be paid into teachers’ bank accounts in China; Teachers will be assisted in opening Chinese bank accounts.
NudleLink offers finance options for flight expenses if it is required. If the candidates does opt to pay for their own flight then it is usually reimbursed at end of the contract period
